Being a Traveller

I have been a traveller since I was an infant. My family was privileged to be able to travel across the globe, which is perhaps why I continue to be a traveller myself. I enjoy learning about new cultures and their customs, while observing nature and how it is treated and managed. Inherently, I find most humans to be similar in what they seem to want out of life: their physiological needs met, a sense of safety and belongingness, well-developed self-esteem, self-actualisation, and self-transcendence (a sense of spirit), just as Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs Theory of motivation discusses (Maslow, 1943). However, I find that the hierarchy of needs changes from culture to culture depending on their development.
As a traveller, my greatest challenge seems to be mixing up languages. I speak several and am learning a few more via an app, but people are kind and supportive. During my travels, I have met all kinds of people—some were kind and loving, while others were not—and my desire to travel continues. The cost of travel is my next challenge, as boarding my dog during my travels is more expensive than my own travel expenses, not to mention the other formalities!
I wish travel and work were simpler, but these aren't the simpler times like the good old days!
